SEMICON Europa 2005

1st International Advanced Photovoltaic Manufacturing Technology Conference

During the SEMICON Europa2005 exhibition, the 1st International Advanced Photovoltaic Manufacturing Technology Conference has been organized by (1st APVM 2005) SEMI, in cooperation with EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association)

During the morning has been held "the PV Manufacturing Technology Food Chain" session. Please find below the presentations of the panellists.

On the afternoon the executive panel session was held regarding "The Challenges and Opportunities in Photovoltaic Mass-Production" about what needs to be done to bisect the photovoltaic manufacturing cost. The following panellists expressed themselves on their vision of PV. The conference was moderated by Michel Viaud, (EPIA Secretary General) :

  • Hubert Aulich, CEO, PV Silicon, Germany (Silicon Wafers)
  • Rainer Möller, Centrotherm, Germany (Cell Production Equipment)
  • Raidar Langmo, REC, Norway (Solar Silicon Feedstock and Wafers)
  • Winfried Hoffmann, CEO, RWE SCHOTT Solar, Germany (Wafers + Cell Production)
  • Anton Milner, CEO, Q-Cells, Germany (Cell Production)
  • Thomas Zarrella, President and COO, GT Solar, USA (Equipment / whole Food Chain)
  • Emiliano Perezaqua, COO, Isofoton, Spain (Cell and Module Production)
  • Simon Tsuo, CEO, Motech, Taiwan (Cell Production)
  • Takashi Tomita, CEO, Solar Systems Group, Sharp Corp., Japan (Cell, Module & PV Products)

This event took place on April 13th at SEMICON(r) Europa 2005 in Munich. This platform provided an excellent opportunity to showcase Photovoltaic competence for stakeholders and permitted to exploit synergies with other semiconductor manufacturing technologies.
