EPIA plays major role at the 21st European Photovoltaic
Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition

EPIA was once again one of the main institutional supporter of the 21st European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition held in Dresden from 4 to 8 September 2006 (www.photovoltaic-conference.com). With 6300 participants from the whole sector, the European PV Solar Energy Conference oranized bt WIP-Renewable Energies, has confirmed its role to be the world's leading PV solar event (Download the press release)

EPIA was present at the 21st EUPVSEC and took this opportunity to launch new initiatives and organize tailor made events to enable discussion among the political, industry and scientific communities as well as unique networking moments:

• 3rd PV Industry Forum: see how the PV industry and research communities discussed ways to reach cost reduction and global market development.
• Official launch of the PV Cycle foundation (in collaboration with BSW)
• Award ceremony of the 6th John C. Bonda Prize to Hans-Josef Fell
• EPIA Gala dinner where 300 invitees gathered one night for a cruise on the Elbe river.
• The EPIA-Greenpeace joint report Solar Generation was launched on 6 September.

The exhibition, an exceptional window-shop for the industry

• Most of the EPIA members were present on the exhibition. We are happy to share with you a view of the latest products they have shown on this unique occasion (Virtual visit of EPIA member’s stands).
• EPIA and BSW joint booth (EPIA-BSW booth) enabled to combine forces and use synergies, this joint industry information centre demonstrated to be a strategic meeting point for industry representatives and stakeholders.

WIP supported the realization of the PV Industry Forum and provided the auditorium and all logistics.
