Alliance for Rural Electrification | |
|
The Alliance for Rural Electrification is an international non-profit organization founded in 2006 by the most important European Renewable Energy Industry Associations: the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), the European Small Hydropower Association (ESHA), the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), the European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA) and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). ARE was created to respond to the outstanding need of providing a sustainable access to electricity to the developing world and to facilitate the involvement of its industry members within a rural electrification global dialogue, involving not only government and donor agencies but also manufacturers, rural entrepreneurs, end consumers, local technicians, NGOs, utility companies, banks, etc. |

Sustainable Energy Europe 2005-2008 Campaign | |
|
The Sustainable Energy Europe 2005-2008 Campaign is a European Commission initiative in the framework of the Intelligent Energy - Europe (2003-2006) programme which aims to raise public awareness and promote sustainable energy production and use among individuals and organisations, private companies and public authorities, professional and energy agencies, industry associations and NGOs across Europe. Set in the context of the European Union’s commitment to change the landscape of energy and building upon the Campaign for Take-Off (2000- 2003), Sustainable Energy Europe 2005-2008 has been launched for a period of four years and will contribute to the achievement of EU energy policy goals and targets in the fields of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, clean transport and alternative fuels. |

First Photovoltaic Mediterranean Conference | |
|
Beyond the historical ancestral links that connect Europe with the Mediterranean and aware of the importance of trans- Mediterranean relations, the EPIA (association europeenne des industriels du secteur photo-voltaique - the European Photo-Voltaic Industry Association) and the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the Territory desired that this first Mediterranean Photovoltaic (Solar Generating Panels) Conference be held, with a desire to see an outline of a dialogue and sustained economic co-operation emerge between Europe and both shores of the Mediterranean, in this sector, during the course of these two days of exchange that will gather together political decision-makers, people from universities and local players. |

PV Policy Group | |

The European PV Policy Group is a network of national energy agencies (in the first place representing 8 EU countries and more than 90% of European solar market), complemented by the EC’s DG TREN and EPIA as transnational PV industry association. It is designed to exchange knowledge and ideas on key policy issues for PV promotion, not only on national level, but also with regard to an EU-wide alignment of support schemes and market monitoring systems from 2006 on. |

Since the 19 October 2004, EPIA is collaborating with IEA-PVPS as a sponsor member as well as a member of its Executive Committee. The Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme is a collaborative R&D Agreement, established within the International Energy Agency (IEA), and conducting projects on the application of solar photovoltaic electricity. IEA-PVPS operates worldwide via a network of national teams in member countries. |
