EPIA Annual Report 2006
The challenges we are facing in 2007 are huge: we have to convince decision makers at European and national level that the decisions they will take should not undermine existing legislation but rather improve it. Europe has the potential to take the lead in developing renewable energies and in particular photovoltaic solar electricity. EPIA is decided; thanks to the strong commitment of its members and the mandate they have given to the Board, to conduct its action in that direction.

PV-Policy - European Best Practice Report
The report has been prepared in the frame of the PV POLICY GROUP project with the support of the “Intelligent Energy Europe” programme (EIE/04/058/S07.38564). This report is the result of the work undertaken under the working group 2 “PV Policy Database and Best Practice Report”.
The editorial deadline of this report was 7 November 2005. As the political framework for photovoltaics is currently changing fast in several countries parts of the country profiles might already be out-dated. For up-to-date information please visit www.pvpolicy.org

Compared assessment of selected environmental indicators of photovoltaic electricity in OECD cities

Download executive summary
Download Full report

Electricity production based on solar photovoltaic (PV) technology is pollution-free at the local as well as the global level, it does not emit greenhouse gases, it does not dip into finite fossil fuel resources and it can be easily integrated into the urban environment, close to major consumption needs.

These particularities make PV one of the major and most suitable options in the mid-to long term future for producing electricity worldwide in OECD and non-OECD countries.

Position Paper on Feed-in-Tariff for PV Solar Electricity (1 Mb)
The national European photovoltaic industry associations, the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) and the Centre of Photovoltaics in Poland present their common position on a Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) for Photovoltaic solar electricity in the European Union. This paper discusses the advantages of FiT schemes in the market development of photovoltaics and addresses potential concerns in regarding implementation.
