EVENTS

On 7th May 2004 EPIA Annual General Meeting opened with the conference “Let’s bet on the Sun”. It focused on the perspectives and potential for solar photovoltaic electricity in Greece. This event turned out to be a real success with more than 150 participants from Greece and Europe.

Greek Deputy Development Minister George Salagoudis opened the event announcing that the Greek government is determined to adopt aggressive policies for the promotion of environmentally-friendly renewable energy sources and that the government planned to provide incentives for the wider distribution of new technological applications like solar-powered photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Greece is the country with the highest amount of Sun in Europe but remains one of the least equipped with PV systems, far behind Germany and the Netherlands.
