A movie celebrating the 20th Anniversary of EPIA was realized for the AGM as well as for the 20th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition held in Barcelona from the 6th till the 10th June, 2005. The title of the movie "8 Minutes from the Sun" refers to the time taken by the light emitted by the Sun to reach the Earth's surface.

In 2020, more than 1 billion people will use electricity produced by the energy of the sun. This is what has been forecasted by the solar electricity sector. A sector which will provide more than 2.2 million jobs around the world.

During the European Conference on Renewable Energy - "Intelligent Policy Options" (Berlin, 19th-21st January) - Ernesto Macias participated to panel 2b "Supporting renewable electricity in the Market : which are the best support-schemes for RES-Electricity applied in Europe?"
Mr. Macias presented the successful feed-in tariff programme in Germany and the necessity to get similar support in the other EU countries.
