Solar photovoltaic energy has a huge potential in the sunny belt of south Europe, Portugal is one of these lucky countries. Photovoltaic energy has been developing in the last years just where adequate support policies were adopted: Germany since 2001, Spain since 2004 and now Italy, Greece and France. Portugal seams to be still missing within the landscape of European solar nations, however potential for solar electricity is great. Portugal benefits from exceptional solar radiations compared to most of the other European countries.
Las Thursday 31st May a conference: “Boosting Photovoltaic in Portugal” took place in Lisbon. This one-day event reviewed the current regulatory framework, market situation and potential for photovoltaics in Portugal. Over 250 participants form Portugal and Europe were present.
This event
was organized by EPIA in collaboration with the following Portuguese
institutions: ADENE, INETI, APISOLAR and the Centre for Innovation,
Technology and Policy Research, IN+ and APREN. It took place in Lisbon
at the Auditório do Fórum Tecnológico.
